Juno Hollen was Brunn: tall, broad, heavy-bodied, warm, humorous, patient, and instinctively gifted with machinery. Long-lived even by human standards, he became a mechanic, scrapyard master, mentor, and keeper of forbidden knowledge.
Juno retained deep knowledge of artificial intelligence and advanced systems from before the technology bans. He withdrew from public life and hid history in plain sight among the Bone Yard's apparent junk.
Star met Juno as a child. He treated her like a granddaughter, taught her practical skills, and valued her curiosity and spirit rather than her family position. He gave her the Dancing Alien without explaining the older responsibility attached to it.
Juno died before the main story. He remains present through Star's habits, stories, tools, hidden records, and the consequences of his choices.
